Open Positions for 2012- 2013

Thinking about getting involved?  The following positions are available:

President - this volunteer is the point of contact for our organization.  Responsibilities include overseeing 2 meetings per school year (you set the date & time) and upholding the KSF PTO Bylaws and Funding Guidelines, which allows our PTO to fulfill its mission of supporting the Kohler School District.  This could be a great opportunity for two friends to work together.  All information will be provided, and the previous president is available to help when needed.

Treasurer - this volunteer maintains the KSF PTO checkbook and uses our Quickbooks software to record transactions.  A financial report is printed 2 - 3 times per year.  This could be a great opportunity for two friends to work together.  All information will be provided, and the previous treasurer is available to help when needed.

Craft Fair Applications Committee - volunteers are needed to collect and process the craft fair application that we receive for the November 2012 Craft Fair.  This committee communicates with craftetrs using the craft fair email account, inputs crafter data into an Excel spreadsheet, and prepares information packets for our crafters.  This is a great opportunity for friends to work together.  All information will be provided, and the previous application committee members are available to explain everything.

Craft Fair Raffle Committee - volunteers are needed to help plan the raffle packages for the 2012 Craft Fair.  This includes sending letters to our wonderful donors, arrangign the prizes in themed "packages", and collecting the donated prize items, and setting up the raffle display the night before the show.  This is a great opportunity for friends to work together.  All information will be provided, and experienced raffle committee members are available to explain everything.  The raffle ticket portion will by handled by returning committee members from 2011. 
  

      

What would Kohler School be like without Kohler School Friends PTO?

This is a question we never want to answer!  At present, the above positions remain open for next school year.  It will be very difficult for KSF PTO to go forward in the 2012-2013 school year without anyone to steer the ship.

We need someone to hold a couple of meetings each year and make sure we're following the rules and upholding our traditions... that's what the president does.  If a parent, teacher or principal has a question, we need this contact person to answer it.

We also need someone to write checks, make deposits and input the information into Quickbooks... that's what the treasurer does.  Without a treasurer, our funds will not be accessible for reimbursements (like the teachers' $150 stipend, which means we won't be able to offer it anymore).

Kohler School Friends PTO provides over $20,000 each year for field trip buses and teacher wish list items (educational materials in the classrooms).   Without adequate leadership, the future of this very important financial support is in jeopardy!

It's time for elementary parents to step forward and get involved.  Your school and your children are counting on you!
